Peggle Deluxe is among the newest game release from Popcap Games. You've will be given 10 balls (the ball is like Pinball's ball) and then shoot to clear the orange peg. It is a simple game but it will make sure you stick in front of your PC to play this game. I've downloaded this game several weeks ago. After hours spent to play this game, finally today I've received this :

Yay! I've been promoted to the Peggle Master after playing 55 maze in adventure modes. Yeah, you read it right. 55 mazes and the 10 - 15 final mazes are the hardest. Anyway, kindly go to Popcap Games website to download the game. And enjoy the game.

The extended leave

I'm taking a leave from today until 10/7/2007. The extended leave is to wait for my wife after the baby is born. The due date is 1 July 2007 although some say the date (for delivery) can be extended or shorten depended on the baby and maybe the mother itself. Nevermind about that. At least I can meet my wife. Already miss her a lot. This week I think is the third week I didn't see my wife. So, I need to go back and see her.

Last night, I drive around Penang (at 12++ a.m) for fun. Usually, when I'm driving at night, my wife will be at my side. The road is peaceful yesterday. No 'mat rempit' clogged the road with their dangerous stunt. Only sometimes I see some car speed at those road (around 100 or 120 kmph). Its stupid really since road in Penang is not that good. Lots of potholes and the repair work make the road more bumpy and dangerous. Try cruise at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah around 80kmph. Your trip will be bumpy and it is more dangerous with those stupid bus stop at the road side without giving signal and those clueless driver that can't decided whether they want to go to Bayan Lepas using flyover or using the normal road. Shesh.

Anyway, because of my extended leave, I will not be able to update this blog for you guys. Gomenasai. I hope you will come back on 11/7. I will put my baby pictures in here. I promise. ;)

Goodbye dear Aunt

My aunt (from my mother side) that I fondly called Mak Cha has passed away this morning. I only know about it after the meeting with my boss.

Although Mak Cha is my aunt, I always looked and loved her like my own mother. She doesn't has any children because she is not marry. When I was 5 or 6 years old, I've started to live with my grandparents. Mak Cha lived with them. She the one who always cook for us before she get the cancer in 2002/2003 and both her eyes are blind around 2005. 2 years live in the darkness is a worst case for my aunt. With the departure of my grandmother last year, Mak Cha need to do most of the thing herself.

This is the third death in my family since my grandmother departure last year. Then my grandfather (from my father's side) passed away. Then Mak Cha. Deep in my heart, I know someone will pass away after this. Not I hope or pray for it, but always when there is a death in the family, I will feel something strange that day. Its true for my grandmother case, also true for my grandfather.

My sisters called me and asked me to go back to Pekan. Even my mother asked me to go back. I'm not sure. I don't want to say I will go back because then they will hold the body for me to see. I don't want that to happen. That's why I think it is better if I didn't go back.

In David Edding's book, Beldaran, sister to Polgara and daughter to Belgarath died because of lung failure. Belgarath is ready to depart before the funeral.

Polgara : Will you not stay for Beldaran's funeral father?

Belgarath : I already done the funeral in my heart.

I always hope she will survived fighting the cancer and will get her sight back. But I think, God already made the plan for her.

Goodbye dear aunt. I hope you will have a better life there.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (PGSM)

Once I wrote some review about PGSM Live Action. I'm not Sailormoon fan and still not until today but the live action is really interesting and for someone who don't like Sailormoon series, I've managed to watch all 49 episodes in PGSM live action and the special act.

Tonight before writing this entry, I'm searching PGSM live action episode 1. I just want to show it to some friends that really like Sailormoon series. Because the series was broadcasted on the year 2003, so its hard to get the episode. Even Tv-Nihon who sub the series also already removed the torrents from their website. Although I has another solution, I still trying to direct download from website (because its faster). To download it from IRC is out of question because I need to search for the bots that host the episodes.

Anyway, during the searching, I managed to get all the websites that dedicated themselves for PGSM Live Action. So, here it is, the link to website that tried hard to preserve PGSM Live Action.

1. Serecindra's PGSM Storyboards
Here you can find Serecindra's hard work. She managed to capture the screen for PGSM fans and post it here. You can find all the act (episodes) for PGSM Live Action here.

2. Sailor Dream : Multimedia Section
You can find commercial, video klips, cast pictures, and etc that related to PGSM Live Action here. I also found Kitagawa Keiko and Hama Chisaki pictures here (although once, I really had lots of their pictures in my PC). And the nice thing about this website is the PGSM calendar. The producer of PGSM giving away this calendar for free when the show still running. Its features all the five sailor senshi here. This is among pictures I've downloaded from them (sample for you guys).

Kitagawa Keiko's picture taken from the site

This is Hama Chisaki. In this series, she play her role as Sailor Mercury (during transformation) and Mizuno Ami.

3. Wikipedia page on PGSM

Maybe Wikipedia can't be your trusted source but at least it is reliable for PGSM. So, if you want to know about the whole series (in general), just read the page.

Heh..That's all from me. This post is a step for me to go back to the anime review. ;)

Installing Rocks 4.2.1 - for frontend

This entry is to guide me on how to install Rocks into my cluster. It is for me only but you can read it also. I'm tired searching the Rocks mailing list so, I've decided to put the solution (that I found) here in this blog.

When at first I install Rocks, it never get pass to the X-Window (Graphical User Interface - GUI) of Rocks. The problem is like this :

Attempting to start native X Server
Waiting for X Server to start....log located in /tmp/X.log
1..2..3..4..5.. X Server started successfully
Starting graphical installation...
The application 'mini-wm' lost its conection to the display :1.0
Most likely X server was shut down or you killed/destroyed the application
Terminated
Sending termination signals ....done
Sending kill signals ...done
disabling swap...
unmounting filesystem...
/mt/runtime umount failed (16)
disabling /dev/loop2 LOOP_CLR_FD failed : 16
/proc/bus/usb done
/proc umount failed (16)
/dev/pts done
/sys done
/tmp/ramfs umount failed (16)
/mnt/cdrom done
/export done
rebooting system
kernel panic - not syncing : VFS : Unable to mount root fs on unknown block (8,3)

So, I search the mailing list for the problem. It has 2 solutions. The first solution, make sure your frontend (or master node) has 1 GB of RAM. Less than that, you may encounter the problem. The other solution is by doing this (I've got this from here) :

In the ks.cfg file in the Kernel CD, the following commands for Anaconda are given:

dispatch.skipStep("handleX11pkgs", permanent = 1)
dispatch.skipStep("videocard", permanent = 1)
dispatch.skipStep("monitor", permanent = 1)
dispatch.skipStep("xcustom", permanent = 1)

As a result, Anaconda does not bother detecting the video card and just runs. This was the source of the problem for the failure to load X. As such, the solution is to download the .iso, mount the .iso and copy the contents into another directory for modification:

mkdir /tmp/kernel-iso
mount -o loop kernel-4.2.1-0.x86_64.disk1.iso /tmp/kernel-iso
cp -av /tmp/kernel-iso /tmp/kernel-iso-new

modify these lines in the ks.cfg file as follows:

dispatch.skipStep("handleX11pkgs", skip = 0)
dispatch.skipStep("videocard", skip = 0)
dispatch.skipStep("monitor", skip = 0)
dispatch.skipStep("xcustom", skip = 0)

remake the .iso:

mkisofs -o /tmp/kernel-4.2.1-new.iso -b isolinux/isolinux.bin \
-c isolinux/boot.cat -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 \
-boot-info-table -J -R -V 'kernel disk1' .

burn it and run again.

Now, I managed to get until partitioning my hard disk. After I had set on how to partition the hard disk, Anaconda ask for Core Roll CD (that contains Area 51, Ganglia, SGE and etc). When I clicked next, this error was displayed :

Traceback (most recent call last) :

OSError:[Errno 2] No such file or directory :
"/mnt/sysimage/export/home/install/rolls/area51/4.2.1/i386"

My team managed to install the frontend node today. It is because we need to install automatic partitioning. I don't like automatic partitioning but I think I can endure it. But now the screen is hang. Let see if it can managed to load all of it. I'll post another updates later.

Who are my visitors?

I just want to know who visit my blog. If you don't mind, could you tell me who you are? Just nickname is okay because most of the time, I can guess you base on your nickname. Oh, and can I know what you like at my blog? Is it the pictures? The stories? Or you just stumble upon my blog? Its important for me because I want to know who my audiences are. ;) Thank you very much.

Oh, btw..you can use the comment section for this post to introduce yourself. ;)

Blocking the web, it is a good idea?

Source : here and here

When Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced the establishment of Multimedia Super Corridor, he as Malaysian Prime Minister at that time pledged and promised that Malaysian Goverment will not blocked access to any website on the Internet. Now, Security Commission (SC) and Ministry of Finance (MoF) has broken our government pledged by blocking access to the scam websites just because many Malaysian were/are stupid enough to put money into the site. Its not because I don't agree with the government in this matter. I partially agreed with the decision but by blocking this sites, who can say that the government can't and won't blocked another site in the future?

After blocking the scam websites, now, someone already proposed to checked websites for pornography and seditious materials. Because the argument is, if SC and MoF can block access to the scam websites, why can't other ministry block access to this or that website. And what after this? The political party can blocked sites that didn't agree with them? For example, if I didn't agree with Lim Kit Siang's thinking, will the government blocked my site? See what I'm talking here? After a while, the blocking method will become a tool for political parties (BN, DAP, PAS, Keadilan and etc) to crush anyone who don't agree with them. And later, we can't even enjoy our freedom to surf the Net. No more Dilbert's, and PhD comics for me. No more porno for those guys and girls. No more good (and bad) articles for us to read. Imagine that.

I don't want our country go down towards China approach. I want the Internet free from blocking. So what if someone access pornographic content. It is their fault. Takkanlah kerajaan nak bertanggungjawab atas segala kebodohan rakyat Malaysia? Come on laa..Grow up la rakyat Malaysia. Sampai bila nak mengadu kat kerajaan. Sape suruh korang percaya kat website-website tu? Lepas dah kena tipu melolong2 kat kerajaan suruh block access ke website tersebut. Aduih, apa la nak jadi.

To my beloved Malaysian, please remember Dr M pledged back then. Please keep in your mind, the Internet is like this world. Not all in this world are good for us but not all is bad. Internet is like that. Read but don't believe 100%. Please read the finer point (e.g FAQ or Terms and Conditions) before you put your money. And please asked someone if you have some doubt towards those website or before you 'invest' in it. Please, we almost reached towards our 50th year of independence but by doing this, our independence is meaningless.

That's all I think.

Japan Day 12 : Mount Fuji, Here I Come - Part 3

This is the continuation of my previous post

We continue our journey to Gutemba outlet to have some lunch and do some shopping (not me). I really like this journey because I learn a lot and know a lot of stories from my friends especially G-san. These stories were not important now and maybe not in the near future but when I've decided to start writing again (fiction), I think this stories will play some part in my overall stories.

Tired and hungry but happy. I can't describe how happy I am with the trip. The relationship between us are strengthen (more) during this trip. But luckily, my camera was really okay during the journey.

Our 'tour guide' explained to us about the Gutemba outlet. The weather outside was cold on that day and its getting colder each hour. She also explained the time we supposed to arrive and when we need to come back to our buses.

We arrived at Gutemba outlet around 1 p.m. Our guide told us to come back at 3.00 p.m. The first thing we see was this vehicle. It's a Hummer but when I glance at it, its look like a Humvee.

Gutemba Premium Outlet has lots of premium brands there. It is based on open mall concept and it is divided into two sections where you need to cross a pedestrian bridge to go from one section to another. We are too hungry and cold to capture lots of pictures. So, I can't show you much about the Gutemba's outlet.

The front 'door' of Gutemba outlet

The bridge

Because it is Sunday, there are a lot of people there. We decided to eat at McDonalds because it's 'fast' and convenient. But as we arrived there, we guess wrong. Japanese throng the place and the queue is quite long. God. I hate to queue. Anyway, the services at Japanese McD are quite efficient compared to Malaysian McD. And a peculiar thing about all McD outlets in Japan whether it is at Gutemba, Akihabara or even at our 'remote' Jusco outlet, customer need to clean their table. After eating at McD's Japan, you need to bring your tray and all the garbage to the garbage bin. On a peak time, there might be an attendant there to help you to sort out the trash. Yeah, you read it right. You need to sort the trash. The combustible (that means paper and those leftover food) goes into one garbage bin while plastic goes into another bin. Blame it on lack of resources at Japan mainland but the system works. Even at foreigner at YKC (that us) follow the system. If not, you will get some lesson from the cleaner. :)

After eat, we didn't have that much time left. But Htet, Thuzar and Koko want to buy some watch. So, I follow them from one shop to another. And I saw one dress that really beautiful and I noticed the price was quite cheap. I entered the shop and really want to buy it for my wife but alas, what I saw is the scarf's price. The dress is quite expensive. If I remember correctly it is about 15,000 Yen. It is about RM 450 during that time exchange rate.

Me, Thuzar, Koko and Htet (and I think Emma too) were quite late to enter the bus. Our teachers are quite mad by then. Her face had turned red. While the other teacher were mumbling something incomprehensible to us. I apologized profusely. Hehehe..

On our way back, we've been asked to sing something in our language. The Indonesian guys enjoy themselves. While we the ITAC class also participate well. The only Malaysian participant at YKC (during that time) was from ITAC class. While Indonesian and Vietnamese had a considerable participation from other courses.

When we nearly arrived at the YKC (is at Fukuura actually), the teacher asked whether we want to go back to YKC or to go to Jusco. I choose to go to Jusco to get something to eat. Its Sunday and the cafe was close. Some of my friends also decided to go to Jusco. Ghazaly and Hanum remain on the bus back to YKC. I've separated from my friends inside Jusco. I said to them I will went back alone to YKC and don't wait for me. I'm not sure why the heck I go to another level. Maybe some errand of mine or I want to see prices of some electronic items. I'm not sure. I went around Jusco for quite some time. Then I go to the 100 yen shop for a while. After that, I go to the Jusco store to buy some thing to eat but then decided to only buy bread from the bakery. Oh well. If I went hungry at night I still got packs of chocolate in my room.

Then I walked alone back to YKC. The thing is at the Kanazawa-ku, it is an industrial sector for Yokohama, so, not much home at the 'district'. The only homes I saw is near Jusco. So, not much car there. You can cross the street quite easy. Walked back to YKC was really tiring. With cold wind keep blowed onto my face, I felt that I never be warm again. I arrived safely at YKC. The person in charge at YKC's front desk knew me and gave me my room's key (or only my key still in their possession. who knows).

I took a bath and surf the Net while eating. Then somebody called me to go for lepaking at YKC's cafe. I went for a while. Then as usual, I call my wife before I went to sleep.

UM will be relocated?

I read it here about it. When I read it, I am shocked about the news. I really don't like with this rumour. You know, most of rumours in our country is true after some time. Like Pak Lah remarried, the rumour already surfaced since the beginning of this year. And also the sour relationship between Dr M and Anwar in 1998. And many other things.

I hope this rumour is not true. Imagine if companies can relocate UM (the oldest university in Malaysia) to other place, what happened to other universities that resides on the prime land like USM main campus in Penang, UKM at Bangi and UPM at Serdang? I pray to God the rumour will stay as rumour but if it is true I hope the company who plan it will go bankrupt. If this happened, it is true that our countrymen doesn't respect knowledge and academic institutions.

The car's battery failed

My car's battery failed today. After all the days that it had, it decided to fail today. And my fund almost to the limit this week. After all, many things happened this week that required lots of money to be 'invested'. *cry out loud*

Anyway, I learn important thing today. Need to be friends with someone in the neighbourhood. I called Proton Edar's mechanic today just to jumpstart my car. :( If I got the equipment that he has, I can charged others. Muahahaha..Had to fork out RM130 to replace the old battery. It already in the service for 2 years now (not including during it's time in storage). I'm glad it didn't decided to stop on the road. The funny thing is, it only failed after I brought my wife to had a breakfast at Bakti (she wanted to go there for breakfast today).

Thank you so much for your 2 years service with me. I really appreciate it. But my car is very low in term of mileage. This is my third year in using that car and it only reach 23600++ km. But I know it will reach another 5000 km in just 2 months time. :)

Congratulations Pak Lah

Congratulation to our Prime Minister for the wedding. Its good for him and hopefully good for our country.

Anyway, once again, congratulations Pak Lah.

Japan Day 12 : Mount Fuji, Here I Come - Part 2

This is the continuation of my previous post

After we spent so much time in sliding down the hill, we finally realized we didn't get so much time left. So, me, G-san and Hanum tour around the park to take pictures. I can't describe the feeling, but its good. Now, let me take you around the park (virtually).

Me and the Ultraman (everybody know Ultraman, right?). Me attempted to mimic the Ultraman pose but failed. I think its the cap and the sweater cape. Its so damn cold before I took this picture. That's why I put on everything. ;)

The Ultraman

Truthfully, I didn't go to this site. I've taken this picture from my friend's.

The cloudy day at Mount Fuji. Most of the time, it is cloudy but I think God really want to see the beauty of His creation, so once in a while, all the cloud will gone from the mountain view.

Me and G-san. The figurine at the park are really cute.

Me with the figurine.

Me in front of the gate into Gurimpa Park.

The view of the park. The 'main' street.

The view of the park. The 'sliding' hill.

Mount Fuji..Again!

Me and the map. That map shows the whole area of Gurinpa Park. At the back is two beautiful houses. Sadly, I didn't entered into the houses.

Me in front of the windmill. Why I put so many of my pictures here? Because someone said I didn't put my pictures here.

The main street at the park.

Ding! Dong! Ding! Dong!

The ice skating field at the park.

We left Gurinpa Park near lunch hour. Most of us are really tired but happy. Happy because we spent a worth time here in the park. Before we went to Gutemba shopping mall, we look back at Mount Fuji and said goodbye.

Sayonara, Fuji-san! Hopefully we meet again later.

Will continue to next part. Stay tuned!

About programming - Part 2

In the previous post, I talked a little bit about programming where I compare programming with building a house. Although not entirely same but the concept in typing a computer code and making a house is almost the same. You can't easily type anything to create a computer code. Same as building a house where you can't take wood or brick and nails or cement and build a home. You must learn about it. So, this article is my attempt to describe about computer programming in general.

So, what is a computer code? Computer code is an instruction you give to computer to do something. For example, print instruction will print something into the screen. Before the computer can understand what you want it to do, the code need to be written or translated into a binary format that the computer can understand. As most of computer science student know, the binary format is a represent by 0 and 1. For computer, 0001 and 0010 is different although for us, it almost look a same. It is easy right. Just type the instruction, translate it into a binary format and the computer can run it. But it is not that easy. Not many of us can translate computer code into a binary format. Maybe some of us can but most of us can't. So, you need a tool to do it for you. That's why we've got programming languages for developing a computer program.

Basically, there are two type of programming languages, compiler-type and interpreter-type. There are also a hybrid of both compiler and interpreter. Some of you must hear about 4th generation programming languages and etc. Trust me, it is not as important as it is. It is just a classification. Knowing which is compiler-type and interpreter-type is more important than which is 4th generation and 3rd generation and etc. To make it simple, C and C++ are compiler-type while Perl is more towards interpreter-type. What about Java? For me, I consider Java as a hybrid between compiler and interpreter-type. The difference between compiler and interpreter is simple. For compiler-type, you need to compile the executable for every type of operating system that you have because the executable can only be run on the specific platform. For example, executable for Windows XP 64-bit most probably can't run on Windows XP 32-bit OS. And of course anything compile on Linux can't run on Windows platform. While for interpreter-type, just bring your program to other platform and you can run it as long as you do not put a specific instruction for that platform. I always encounter assignment from student who use Windows command in their program. And when we run it on Linux platform those program can't run properly.

Before we write a computer program, we must know the basic of the programming language. For example, you can't just driving a car without at first knowing about how to start the car's engine, where is the brake pedal, how to turn on the light and etc. It is same as programming language. You must know the variables that you can use, the language syntax and so on. Some computer science students always make the mistake. They can't understand why we need to put ; (semicolon) after each instruction in C or C++ or why we need to declare variables or why we need to use "why" or "for" statement for loop and etc. They can't understand the basic but they attempt to make a program. When their program get an error, they can't troubleshoot it and some of them will cry and sometimes they scolded me because of their mistake. Yes, some of us can learn as they do the programming but most of them already grasp the basic before they do the programming.

The sad thing about this kind of attitude is, we lost lots of potential programmers each year. They have potential but when they encounter small error on the way, they broke up and don't want to do programming anymore. It is a lost actually. A very big lost for Malaysia and in computer field because time and money spent to train them is quite a lot actually.

This is the end of the article. If I'm not lazy, I will continue and introduce you with basic variables that are common in programming languages.
